Born in 1977, Tanya Atallah is the visionary founder and owner of the Fine Art Photography Academy FAPA.
A pioneer in modern photography education, she has devoted more than twenty five years to advancing the visual arts.
Holding dual Master’s degrees in Fine Art Photography and in Visual Arts, Tanya has shared her expertise at AKU, AUST, AUB, and the Catholic University of Paris ICP. Her teaching blends rigorous technique with artistic inquiry, inspiring students to treat photography as both craft and language. She has also collaborated with the Institut Français and delivered training for Al Jazeera television.
Her artistic work has appeared in exhibitions including Tawaheen Beirut at USEK in 2016 and Fleurs de mon jardin at USEK in 2001, with international participations such as the Salon de la Photo et de l’Image in Paris in 1999 and the Fourth Assembly of Photography in Aleppo in 2000, as well as collective shows at Galerie Entretemps and at Beit El Fan in Tripoli.
Her achievements include recognition as a Femme Francophone Entrepreneur in 2016 and the award for Best Landscape Photo in 2006 from the Lebanese Ministry of Culture. Earlier roles span freelance work for fashion magazines and advertising agencies, direction of the Manzel television show for Orbit TV from 2001 to 2003, and assignments with LBCI and the Daily Star in 1998.
Through FAPA, Tanya has built an international network and positioned the academy as a leader in officially recognized professional photography training in Lebanon and beyond. Her vision is rooted in accessibility, opening the doors of photography education to all, whether they seek a professional path, plan to teach, or wish to explore a meaningful personal practice.
Her mission goes beyond instruction. Tanya is dedicated to preserving the essence of photography in a world saturated with images. She champions visual literacy and believes in images as a universal language that connects cultures and generations.
