Born in Lebanon in 1982, Dany Chedid is a director of cinema and television with more than twenty years of experience in cinematography. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Audio-Visual Arts and a Master’s degree in Cinematography, reflecting his solid academic and professional foundation.
His career spans feature films, documentaries, television series, commercials, and music videos, establishing him as a versatile and highly respected figure in the region’s film industry. Notable works include Open Wound (2019), Abel Ma Yousalo, and A Silent Morning (2024), along with acclaimed commercial campaigns for Zain Telecom, STC, and Roma Jewelry. He has also lensed documentaries such as The Maronite and a two-part film on Bachir Gemayel.
Since 2007, Dany has been an active educator in the field of cinematography and lighting, teaching at institutions such as Al-Kafaat University, Antonine University, LGU, IESAV, and AUT.
At the Fine Art Photography Academy (FAPA), he leads courses in videography and directing of photography (DOP), bringing his industry expertise directly into the classroom and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.
He is also a partner at Off the Wall Studios and, in recognition of his artistic contribution to cinema in the Middle East, was awarded a UAE Golden Visa for Artists in 2022.
